Ch. 16 end
With what I've learned about the Atlantic revolutions, particularly the French revolution, I have a scary theory about the near future. it appears that massive revolution occurs when too much power accumulates in just a few people, and this is inevitable since power accumulates power. Rich people will always use their money to buy real estate or something that will make them even richer (at least smart rich people do). once too much power and resources are hoarded by a top 1% it's hard for the necessary resources to be redistributed to the masses as the power holders rarely give their riches out willingly and they likely have the power to manipulate governing bodies in their favor. At the point of desperation the masses will realize that their combined power is far greater than the 1% and they will take back the resources by force. Knowledge, especially wide spread, and communication act like matches for the powder keg of revolution as we've read about with the enlightenment ideals. This is why I think we will see the largest revolution yet in the coming decade. Wealth inequality has been an issue before I even hit puberty and the increases in automation will only make it worse, couple that with the ever expanding reach of the internet and we already have events like a raid on area 51 going viral and meme campaigns to get companies like Disney and Blizzard banned in China because of their censoring of Honk Kong protesters. The coming revolution will be spread through the web, and it will be massive.
